True. I imagine it's the same as in programming -- trends get hot and people run with them.

A craze for MVC full stack frameworks in web development is not entirely dissimilar to a craze for subtly textured backgrounds and slab serif typefaces like Archer in design.

Hah. Yeah the most important thing though is always quality of the content, over the aesthetic of the design. But nice design is always the icing on the cake. Good information architecture always beats pretty design in my opinion.

I read over the first page and didn't see a single app that hadn't already been done ad nauseum.
