That said, many are, to me anyway, superficial or pointless. A few I find borderline offensive.

Maybe try being a little less holier-than-thou. I'm gonna go ahead and bet a few things you enjoy likely qualify as inconsequential vanities or bullshit to someone. You just happen to define them differently.
And there ain't nothing wrong with that... I happen to enjoy no shortage of inconsequential vanities, and I'm perfectly fine with that. Far worse, IMO, to delude yourself into believing they're more consequential than they are. Life doesn't always have to be about deep meaning and self-discovery.
