Haha! Your Alibaba subsidiary made me laugh! Well, Amazon is giving them a good completion. But the power of PP really has Ebay off the charts for now

The problem is that with an auction site, you need buyers to trust it and sellers to want to list items there (and have an actual chance that they will sell).

Both of these take years to establish. I used to buy and sell for a living on Ebay/Amazon and no other site was even close.
