Re: Show HN: Stack Overflow for Guitar
#2Edit: The author has changed the tagline, but for posterity it said something along the lines of: "Want to know what boobs look like?" With a subheading along the lines of "You might have been offended, but you're still reading..."
Re: Show HN: Stack Overflow for Guitar
#3The offensive tagline (and the site's author acknowledges its offensive nature) seems like a mistake. Why alienate 50% of your audience with the first thing they're going to read? Edit: The author has changed the tagline, but for posterity it said something along the lines of: "Want to know what boobs look like?" With a subheading along the lines of "You might have been offended, but you're still reading..."
I was kinda excited about the idea, but then I saw the tagline and I was like "oh god that's the stupidest thing I've seen this month" and closed the tab on pure reflex.
Seriously, what?

Yeah, please delete it, it's just stupid and terrible. I was kinda excited about the idea, but then I saw the tagline and I was like "oh god that's the stupidest thing I've seen this month" and closed the tab on pure reflex. Seriously, what?

#8Good idea, but the name may be off-putting, as well as the tagline. Rebrand it and you should be good.

Based on the tagline, we can conclude one of two things... the creator is clueless, the creator is not serious. Either way, it doesn't belong here. Flagged.

#10Earlier quoted context omitted.

Sorry, changed it around. Hope it's better now.
None of this belongs on a new site you are trying to launch:
> "Before AxeDork, no guys looked at me. Now after learning the guitar, I scored myself a moody emo boyfriend. Thanks AxeDork!" — Brooklyn Anderson
> "I finally lost my virginity!" — Tim Mishkin
> For guitar students ages 10-29
> original: My Mom's Farts
And the name of the site isn't much better. You don't need a quick change to one piece of text. You need to overhaul your entire approach to this project.
