#6It would be interesting to turn this into an API for use with looking at apartments/hotels, Google Now (and related), etc. as a warning system for people new to an area. (Thinking more in terms of the 'sketchy' warning than the 'hipster' warning here.)

To reply to myself, it looks like it's rendered client side - the json just returns a bunch of points and the heatmap must be canvas.
