#2This is neat but the map by public transport time is probably non-euclidean because subways are like wormholes.

If it does, can someone explain how to use it? No matter what I do, the map just warps a bit, and nothing else happens.

This is what it is supposed to do. The coordinates in map from one location to another change from distance to how much time it would take to reach there.

You cannot pan on iOS.

These actually point of a failure mode of the original topic's visualization, at least as it pertains to public transit:

(I think a previous commenter called this out by referring to subways as "wormholes")
As for car directions, you should be able to create an isochron by drawing circles in the transformed map!

#9Interesting twist on what other people have done, namely show a heat-map of where you can go using public transit + walking within 5 min, 15 min, 30 min.

#10It would be a nice effect if the pressed point on the map stayed at the same location on the screen (the pressed point) during and at the end of animation.
