#2They do have a lot of PRs merged, and on their npm page I see many canary versions though: https://www.npmjs.com/package/react?activeTab=versions
Maybe someone could enlighten what's happening

#5They publish "experimental" releases on a near-daily basis, and have had numerous "canary" releases.

(to be clear, I've been pretty vocal about the lack of a stable release and the annoying versioning strategy myself. but React is very much _not_ "dead".)
