But they do have a high-profile roster of investors - I wonder if there's some catching-up attempt happening here?

#3Pre-revenue company raises another round of more VC cash and all they have released is a free chatbot.
This valuation looks excessively inflated and quickly hyped to $4B, almost like Clubhouse. But even if they release a paid API, that still doesn't justify the $4B valuation.
This only means that they are burning millions of dollars training and fine-tuning their deep learning models which is a game which profitable companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft and Meta can afford to do.
In terms of the race to zero, Meta is already at the finish line by releasing their AI model for free.

They launched approximately 2 months ago. I tried them previously but other than the fancy interface. I found it comparable to open source models.
They claim that there model is comparable or superior in some cases to GPT3.5-Turbo which I have yet to find. Mostly, they raised the round on the founding team.

I tried Pi briefly but it can't code or help out much with my work, so went back to ChatGPT.
