all politics is a method of neutralising democracy. Look at our own political system - we vote once every 4 years for person or party based on what they promise to do, only for them to be free to disregard such promises once in power. It must be obvious that it is a charade by now

More like the system is just too complex for them to do too much. Sort of like dealing with hurricanes. You can't control its path. All you can do is try to protect as many people as possible from disaster.

Why are these COVID cranks also skeptical of net zero, pro nuclear and pro Putin?

That's a really weird mix of opinions.

Presumably it's just easier to coast on conspirscy theories generated by people with deep pockets than to fight against them if you want to make money as a "journalist", but its a bad look.
