At this point i dont see any way for FB to recapture their lost audiences, however many features they continue to copy from others. The young demographics have moved on to other platforms and will continue to do so. Soon Instagram will also be a Boomer Wasteland.

No older people I know even use or know about Instagram or TikTok or whatever the latest flash in a pan is.

And if they were to ask me about any of them i would advise them to avoid them all like the plague to society they are.

Instagram has 1.4b monthly active users globally. 40% of Americans use it.

Yeah I know and it doesn't change my statement or the advice I would give to anyone young or old.

Saw a headline day or two (?) ago saying that fbk was bringing back the old chronological feed.

I think that will help short and long term.

From what I've been seeing (in many other's use / dissatisfaction), the moderation / censoring / temp bans and such are more of the real threat to it's long term heavy use / not used much.. and I would not bet that that is going to change significantly any time.

My wife is 48 and loves TikTok. As do many coworkers 40 to 60. Personally, I don't get it, but it is popular in every age group I know.
