Woah this is awesome. Does anyone know if this is using web authn under the hood? Or is this a new spec? Would love to see Pub/Priv replace passwords

What standard is this using? The doc doesn't specify.

According to the WWDC Keynote they are working with the FIDO Alliance on it: https://fidoalliance.org/

What happens if you lose your device or it breaks or something? Do you lose access to anything tied to it?

Beta support for Passkey is already in the current macOS/iOS releases:

I am already using Passkeys on some websites.
