Why I have deleted my Producthunt account

Little variety

At this point, the Producthunt frontpage consists mostly of Notion, Low-Code/No-Code and microfinace.

Account Wall

The frontpage can now only be browsed completely with an account. After five products of the most recent day, there is an unavoidable request to log in.

Community

For the last few months there has hardly been any constructive feedback, only praise. I haven't seen any suggestions for improvement for days, only short generic congratulations that could also be written by bots.

I don't mean to say that I reject the positive atmosphere, but feedback is especially important for startups and beta software. Not every launch is done in a mature state, and it's fine if not necessary to point this out.

Producthunt was my favourite site in the past. It is unfortunate that the community growth seems to be having a negative effect.

Personally I got tired of being interested in something and finding out that it's not useable. The new playbook seems to be make screenshots, set up a landing page, and see if it goes viral on Product Hunt.

I think the mindless praise is also because some are a part of some cohort or ring, where they all promote each other.

The last time I saw something I used from PH was probably about 4 years ago and I'm still subscribed to the newsletter hoping for something new.

Hi! I agree it's hard to build a review/rating system that is both objective and not harsh for product authors.

It disgusts me how much people around me like to, in lack of a better fitting expression, choke on linkedin's dick. and even worse they will shove it down your throat too... Instagram is a better job search platform in my opinion.
