I didn’t miss the point, he and his wife are just being needlessly stubborn. This isn’t a cause worth sacrificing the safety of your wife and kids for. Regulations exist for a reason. You don’t just get to say “hey I’m going to not vaccinate my kids for polio because I don’t feel like it”. How is this any different?

While this is true, governments are massively over-stepping their authority. Also, trust in government in post-soviet countries isn't exactly high to begin with. It's one thing to require proof of vaccination for places like restaurants, another to require an electronic pass to buy essentials like groceries.

While this is true, governments are massively over-stepping their authority. Also, trust in government in post-soviet countries isn't exactly high to begin with. It's one thing to require proof of vaccination for places like restaurants, another to require an electronic pass to buy essentials like groceries.
True, but at the same time we’re not going to win this battle without a very high vaccination rate. Perhaps food delivery or some other mechanism can be set up for the anti-vaccers.

Plenty of people do this, it's pretty easy to get an exemption for most things like that. My parents did it just fine.

#9I notice that for people who are pro-vaccine, this “government authoritarianism” is not taken as, well, authoritarianism. It is rather perceived as the government caring for its people and adopting the necessary measures to control the situation. It’s interesting to see how different groups of society perceive the same issue from completely different angles.
