I think this is a really funny analysis, and I do agree with the author's conclusions that men tend to overreport and women tend to underreport due to cultural norms.

Here are some non-lying based explanations for the discrepancy:

1. A lot of the surveyed men are non-heterosexual, so there are a lot more edges between men. 2. The survey was not a true random sample, the chaste men and promiscuous women were excluded in the study.
