Back in ~2015 Philip Buuck did a video series called Handmade Quake where he analyzed every file while trying to rewrite Quake 1 from scratch. This of course generated buzz and soon enough he got hired by Epic, as a result everything got scrubbed and deleted, his videos, his blog, all of it gone.
