#3It is good that Huawei is releasing software APIs for developers. However, despite them having the best phone cameras, I can't have one and be their customer. I would really want to though.
The core of the problem predates the Google ban:

When they then famously were banned from accessing Google tech beyond AOSP, they stick to this previous policy instead of embracing open source software on their devices, supporting alternate ROMs like LineageOS or even making them the default instead of their seemingly average Android version.

#4I was looking forward to publish apps on Huawei's AppGallery [1], but the requirement for identity verification [2][3] is a major turn-off, considering the increased risk of our personal data being misused by government entities. The same is true for Xiaomi's Mi Store.
From Huawei's developer site:

Why do they need your bank document and/or bank statements?

Apple requires identity verification for certain individual developers too (and all organizations AFAIK):

Why do they need your bank document and/or bank statements?
Don’t know about elsewhere but in the U.S. bank statements is usually one of the documents used to prove your address.

Why is this being downvoted? I know I am not alone in wanting a technical overview of the role of CCP and GFW when consuming these API's from outside China... is this real innovation in silicon or just another way of offloading data (or a mix)?
