I am trying several languages and frameworks to increase my understanding and learning, (C#/)ASP.NET included.

Understanding and insight through experience ...best way to learn?

Yep. I really like some parts of it (the request pipeline), and hate others (Web Forms).

Yes. http://www.workpost.com runs on ASP.NET. And like every technology, it has advantages and disadvantages.
