For instance there are many different card games, what's to say Magic is more complex than them?

It is similar in lore/setting.

#9The actual article (as opposed to this summary) states that it's the most computationally complex game, which is quite a different claim.

#10It should be retitled as 'MTG is the most complex game we've played'. I would counter that other card driven games like Android Netrunner, Terraforming Mars, Lisboa, Hanabi, etc are just as or even more complex.
