#6If some posts on gab are direct incitement of violence, they should (and as I have heard, do) get removed. Trashing the entire service is IMHO something else entirely.
If a legal activity (gab acts entirely above board) simply cannot operate, not for lack of customers or other business operations but because they are blackballed, then something is rotten in the state of Denmark. I don't know what the right solution is.

#7It's fun watching everyone learn the other freedom in the 1st amendment is the freedom of association. (Even though that doesn't matter for the non-governmental entities here.) Also, good riddance

#8It seems like the common thread of gab members is slime, but regardless I am rather disturbed at them being kicked offline by their domain registrar which seems a bit removed from the content business. It is however hilarious that the dns registrar in question is those mega scumbags godaddy!
But I could see hosting and Paypal object to it. The domain registrar is totally out, they are tens of thousands of horrible domains out there, no one blames the registrar.

Argue whatever you'd like about whether, on the modern Internet, they're entitled to use mainstream providers on FRAND terms. You can build a coherent argument on either side. But please don't amplify their bogus claim of being an innocent victim.

If a site cannot get hosting and IP connectivity from /somewhere/ then there's a problem in the system.
This is a definite wakeup to the fact that if you want to do anything a little bit controversial (freedom of speech is the very first US amendment, how controversial can that be?) then you need decentralized, uncontrollable systems like Tor hidden services and NameCoin.
