Seems like a great way to catch a nasty case of conspiracy to commit a felony. The reason the Nobel committee can give an award to a political prisoner in another country is that they are in another country.

I nominate Travis Kalanick and every Uber engineer over the past few weeks that says that breaking laws regulating city transit and breaking laws regulating lobbying and breaking FTC laws about misleading advertisements is justified by their mission from god to disrupt a legal regulated taxi industry using illegal, disobedient, tactics.

I'd add in all the HN libertarians who also stated that breaking legal, regulated taxi medallions was so important that that justified Uber's illegal tactics, but they are not part of Uber and so not eligible for this prestigious disobedience award.

Edit: upon inspection, I have to withdraw the nomination of Uber engineers:

> The recipient must have taken a personal risk in order to affect positive change for greater society.

Uber engineers enable unethical behaviors and law breaking, but they are not taking personal risks. They collect their pay checks, their bonuses, and their options, but they will not sit in jail asking Waldo why he is out there.

To take another comment, suppose the Media Lab awards Snowden the $250K. What possible conspiracy charge could the Media Lab (or the person(s) who nominated Snowden) catch?

There are plenty of ways to disobey without breaking the law.
