#6China might not have unions but they do have child labor laws and if those aren't doing the trick I don't know how a union would. It's a market with a poor, easily exploitable labor pool desperate for work (they have double digit unemployment in the rural areas and the nation's average salary is under $6,000 a year).
So I can't see how a union would help unskilled workers when the factory could easily fire the whole factory and have it full again within a week
