This is an onsite position in Toronto, Canada.

We are looking for a skilled and energetic SysOps engineer who has worked with Linux and AWS in production.

MongoDB and Mesos are also part of our stack, so if you’ve worked with these technologies, great! However, even if you haven’t - we’re looking for a candidate who enjoys learning on the job, and who can point to instances where they have picked up multiple technologies in a past role.

We would like this SysOps role to evolve into a DevOps role. The successful candidate will show interest in learning about continuous integration, version control and infrastructure as code.

When you join, you will be expected to:

- learn and understand our microservices infrastructure

- maintain, tune and upgrade infrastructure incrementally

- identify, diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues

- maintain the infrastructure, including responding to outages, if they occur

- write scripts as needed to accomplish any/all of the above

- provide on-call support in the event of production outages

A solid candidate will have these characteristics:

- 2+ years in SysOps or DevOps role working with cloud infrastructure

- Expert Linux skills, including performance tuning and security

- Experience in maintaining and enhancing production environments in AWS

- 2+ years experience with a scripting language (Bash and/or Python)

- Networking within the cloud (firewalls, DNS, routing etc)

This is our nice-to-have list - if you possess any of these skills, you will stand out:

- Familiarity with Nagios

- MongoDB server administration experience

- Hands-on experience with Mesos / Marathon / Chronos / DCOS

- Automation with Ansible / Chef / Packer

- Experience with Docker

- Experience with Continuous Integration

- Experience with version control

- Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field - Experience maintaining basic office infrastructure
