OP folks in here are trying to give you legit advice and you're handwaving a lot of it. Listen to them. You're not the first nor the last person to have this idea. You can ignore all of the advice if you choose but I urge you to not ignore this one. Hire a red team expert or service to scan your site and provide you with a report. Letting others upload content to your server is a minefield. Take the advice seriously.…

OK, thanks. I might pull it down, or gate it somehow. And tbh I dont think all this drama is real. Like people expect me to believe that there are triads of evil people out there sitting behind their green on black terminals who are creating pipelines in yaml that bring upon us the corruptions of hell. come on ...

This is 100% real; it’s why we can’t have nice things. It’s why email is a Sisyphean task to host yourself, spam spam, abuse, you name it, it is real and it will come for you.

Be humble (even more so as a junior) and accept OP's suggestion. You literally state "no tracking" in the footer (and maybe elsewhere) which means every techie will understand that there's no tracking at all (certainly not by Google or any other external entity). Either remove the tracking or remove the notice, otherwise you're being dishonest. EDIT: I see you're also handwaving very decent legal advice here. I'd hig…

why are you being flippant like a this is some street brawl? Keep your advises on mannerism for your own children. AND fyi Google tracks everything. If you dont know this much, you are not a "techie". You use firefox? sponsored by google. You use chrome? boom. Android? gth. Go to dark web you weirdo. I wont read your replies every again. Again since you lost your glasses and cant read, "I DONT TRACK YOU." Thats what…

How do you think Google is able to track users? It's in part because of fools like you who puts their tracking script into the website. You're actively aiding this.

You're not required to do so, not for indexing in search engines and not for having visitor statistics (you can install some open source software instead).

I've spent years lurking on HN and I finally made an account just to tell you that you're the most arrogant person I've ever seen in here, and that's saying a lot given the user base. This thread is full of thoughtful, valuable AND respectful advice, yet you're taking out your frustrations on everyone.

If you react this poorly to all criticism, it's going to make life much harder for you in general and not only in tech. I hope you find peace in life.

They are completely real and the people posting in the comments are not lying or exaggerating. Why do you think sites that host images require tens of thousands of content moderators? It's not for fun, they would avoid it if they could. They are required to because law enforcement will shut them down.

you don't need triads of evil, you just need one to bring you in trouble

so? google knows everything. it is needed for indexing and whatnot. I dont track you. that's my claim, not that I wont let google track you, because it will regardless.

You don't need any Google scripts for indexing on your page. You can verify your domain Google Search Console and supply the url to the sitemap or wait for them to auto-discover you but that's about it.
