Ask HN: Are LLMs becoming a real discovery channel for ecommerce?

#1
With more people using AI assistants like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot for product research, it feels like traditional SEO is no longer the full picture.

I’m curious how others here are approaching this:

• Are you tracking whether AI assistants recommend your products? • Are you changing product data, schema, or feeds to improve AI readability? • Or is this still too early to matter in practice?

I’ve noticed a split between tools that monitor AI mentions and tools that focus on fixing product data so LLMs can actually verify and recommend items.

Would love to hear real experiences from people experimenting with this.
