Ask HN: Good ways to spend learning budget?

my current employer offers a generous learning budget for all employees (2k per person per year), but employees are not very eager to take advantage of it. Which courses / resources / trainings would you recommend for people in this situation?

Edit: just to clarify, I'm asking for technical IC roles such as data scientists and software engineers.
