Both Google and Bing are bringing AI into their search engines. It seems to me that SEO will actually become AIO (AI optimization or whatever term they will invent).

I remember the world before search engines and internet. I can't imagine the progress that we have today without them.

Google earns money from adds, if the will procure answers based on your questions how will they create revenue?

Google will be fine. They will still procure answers based on our questions, their training data will be modulated by paid search as will Bing's

Nothing about NLP suggests a disruptive end for search. Have you not been reading the subject matter experts commenting how erratic the GPT fed responses are to veracity on their subject matter expertise?

People will use these chimera and learn to cope with their bogus responses, just like we did with SEO skew.
