Backend-focused software engineer seeking full-time, remote role. I'm particularly interested in developer roles where I can eventually explore DevOps and data engineering.

My most recent project was Aria: an open-source, stand-alone canary deployment tool (Typescript, AWS, Svelte, Docker, Prometheus, Go). I'm most familiar with Javascript, Ruby, and React, but am eager to learn new things.

Bonus life skills: former K-12 teacher (empathy, communication) and one-time STEM PhD student (independent problem-solving, tolerance for ambiguity).

I know this isn't the conventional place for non-technical posts, but I figured my skills could be helpful to companies here in a non-technical capacity. Right now I'm a records specialist at a small company where I manage staff and client records as well as coordinate volunteers to help generate leads. Before that I worked at a historical society where I did things like facebook marketing, gave guided tours, wrote and sent out press releases, and brought in donations from local businesses for fundraising events.

  Location: TN, USA (US/Central)
  Remote: Yes (Only)
  Willing to relocate: No
Technologies: Strong SQL experience, JS/TS, Docker, AWS

I am a senior software engineer / lead with 20 years of experience in many different industries. Most recently I was the only then primary engineer leading a startup to a successful exit. I am a polyglot with experience in several languages - I am an expert in a language I would like to move away from. Most recently I have been focused on TS/JS but would be interested in just about any language; with a little time I can become proficient in any language. I am especially interested in typed and/or functional languages. I am most interested in backend positions, but I am experienced in frontend and devops. I may be interested in data science positions - I have a strong SQL and relational DB background. I have a lot more written about my background and outlook in my resume.

In my current role I have a wide range of responsibilities and not much focus. Would prefer to join a well established team where I can contribute deeply. Looking for stability, good work life balance, and a remote first team.
