Ask HN: Does a VC seed round make you “venture-backed”?

Does the term "venture-backed company" imply you've raised a Series A or beyond from VCs? Or does it still apply even if you've just raised, e.g., a $2M seed round from a VC? I know the seed rounds don't impact VCs' fund performance metrics as consequentially as their later stage investments do for some reason
