SEEKING WORK | EU / UK-based | On-demand, targeted SRE expertise

I provide short-term (1-2 weeks), high-end SRE consulting services focused on solving specific operational problems in emergency or high-pressure situations. I deal with all aspects of systems engineering and SRE / DevOps processes, as well as with strategic and evaluation needs.

My expertise is based on 30 years of hands-on technical experience in all areas of IT, but especially in designing, building and operating complex, hybrid platforms for global clients.

I usually work with clients who:

  - have urgent operational issues that need immediate outside expertise
  - are launching a new service but are not sure if it is customer-ready
  - have unstable or non-scaling systems that are impacting end-users
  - are worried about process gaps that affect service delivery quality
Examples of work I've done for clients:

  - Implementing multi-level cloud redundancy
  - Tracking down performance bottlenecks
  - Stabilisation of complex applications
  - Validation of new projects before production
  - Intelligent logging & monitoring implementations
  - Effective dashboarding and alerting
  - Tool selection & best practices
I have extensive experience in a wide range of SRE / DevOps / SysAdmin tools, most AWS and Azure services (at a global level), and many data processing technologies like Kafka, Spark, Storm, Solr, Elasticsearch, Redis, Hadoop, etc.

Interesting problems and interesting colleagues? I'm happy to talk.

Started my career as a spacecraft flight software engineer, and carried that rigor with me throughout.

Much more info about the types of teams I work with and problems I solve on the website.

I am comfortable with Linux administration, low level troubleshooting, network configuration.
