Some years ago an opinionated article got linked on HN which discussed whether debugging or fixing incidents via SSH is a smell.
As far as I can remember the article said that SSHing is already too late and everything a human would do at that stage should be fixed earlier by logging, tracing, metrics and well-defined procedures.
