Ask HN: As Macs are out of the way what is the next best dev laptop

XPS13 is awesome and powerful. but they have an average battery life.

Razer15 advanced model is great too.

surface book looks nice too What is a good choice?

Macs aren't out of the way; only AS will take a bit for the developer ecosystem to adapt.

The Intel MacBooks are still the best dev machines for the time being.

I haven't found a PC laptop that comes close to the quality of the MBP. The touchpad is pure wizardry. I never accidentally touch the corner of it while typing and send my cursor flying across the screen. The hardware is solid, and can be repeatedly woken/suspended all day long simply by closing the lid, without a driver lockup. The OS never crashes. It overheats and still works fine.

Truly the next best thing to a MBP for development work is a Windows desktop with WSL.
