Tech stocks are flying high again - maybe a bit too close to the sun.

What to do with a decent number of unvested stock? E.g., if I am happy with the value my unvested stock have today, how can I lock them in more or less today? What strategies worked for you?

Futures can be a nice (and probably cheap) option. However, if I lose my job, the stocks don’t vest and went up 30% in the meantime I have a problem (going short)...

Put options in the money ain’t exactly cheap (especially if they run for a few years). I was thinking “way out of money” Put options (e.g., strike price 40% below current value with settlement date 2 yrs from now).

What strategies worked for you? What to keep in mind (e.g., when a car hits me, my stocks don’t vest and I have some open positions my wife doesn’t know about...)?

I can deal with losing 20/30% of their current value, -60% would put me in crisis tbh...
