On the other hand, it isn't a respectful environment if you have to look smart according to current groupthink norms in order to ask questions here and get them taken seriously. No, I don't misunderstand. It doesn't matter what you are calling idiocracy. I have moderating experience. I also raised two sons in an environment where no question was off limits. I have firsthand experience with how important it is to hold to that standard if you genuinely want to have serious intellectual inquiry, something incredibly challenging to achieve on the Internet.
