He’s just saying you gotta do what you gotta do. I couldn’t find work after getting laid off from meta platform engineering so I started clandestinely mass producing pharmaceutical grade methamphetamine for distribution across dozens of citizens across the American southwest. In my spare time, while looking for help desk positions.

You’re getting overboard here with your math lab, competition is more fierce and gangs could do something very unpleasant to you.

Startups are usually a bad idea unless you are a cofounder. It’s not the 2000s anymore. Anything less than series C is just too much risk. If you are not a cofounder that means you are working on someone else’s dream. There are exceptions of course, some startups pay well and help you build a professional network that can be very valuable when launching your own business. But those are very rare today unless again they are already in the expansion phase with lots of cash in the bank. The absolute best move is to put your ideals on pause and join boring but solid companies with an IPO path in the next 2-3 years, and do that 4-5 times from your 20s to your 30s then cash out and go after your dream without being stressed out about money. This would be my plan if I could go back in time.

This is a legit concern. I got kicked out of a large bank in the US when some transactions to Colombia got flagged. I always did business with people I was referred to. What was explained to me by a banker is if for any reason the person on the other side of the transaction has been flagged in the US all the other accounts related to it are automatically flagged as well. No explanations given. No warnings other than a letter by post mail. I was in Europe when I realized and could not use my card. Then changing banks is an absolute PITA. Not worth the risk. Now I make all international payments using a small community bank through one or two people I trust.

It's highly likely that payments to Middle East are actively tracked. Because "terrsts" /s. So people may be reluctant to enter into business dealings.

Wise is a thing. Also if OP has enough business, he can easily incorporate and get a US bank account.

Wise is just as trigger happy with vague KYC/AML blocks as anyone else these days.
