Archipelago AI (https://archipelago-ai.com/) | Back- and front-end engineers | Contract-to-hire but no agencies for now | Part-time possible | Remote

We are dedicated to improving distributed work through better communication tools. More productive, and more conducive to forming the social ties that we associate with face-to-face interaction.

We are hiring back- and front-end engineers to help build our new communication platform.

Back-end: Must know a statically-typed language (ideally similar to Kotlin, which we use), system design, distributed systems, and have experience with a message broker.

Front-end: Must know Typescript, Websockets, modern frameworks (we use Svelte, and Astro), and how to write testable code. Ideal candidates will be versed in UI/UX, web- and interaction design.

Kindly send your resume and design portfolio, if you have one, to hiring+hn@[domain]

Offstream | https://www.useoffstream.com/ | Denver, CO or remote (US timezones) | Founding full stack software engineer

Offstream's mission is to enable gigaton scale carbon removal by building the tools clean tech project developers use to stay compliant and maximize revenue for their operations. We work with clean tech developers globally to simplify the complex web of compliance across IRA tax credit requirements, voluntary carbon market standards, local, state, and federal regulations, and carbon credit buyer purchase demands. The market for low-carbon projects is rapidly growing with $500B+ IRA incentives from the US, purchase commitments made by large corporate buyers, and the growing climate crisis. Offstream enables the launch and scale-up of projects that are critical to net zero.

We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate would have significant experience with front end development OR backend + infra work, but the role will include working across the entire stack as needed. As our first engineering hire, you will have the opportunity to make a huge impact by building our product from the ground up.

Streak | Remote Only | Staff Frontend Engineer

Streak (www.streak.com) is a CRM built on Gmail. We’re a *remote-first* team of 35 people across North America. We’re growing and very profitable, and we have customers that love our product. We’re currently in the goldilocks zone of having product market fit with real revenue but also a really flat hierarchy where you can ship fast.

We want to accelerate product delivery (there’s so much to build!) so we’re looking to bring on high agency and experienced frontend engineers to work on high impact product features / frontend infrastructure. We’re building a small, focused, high performing frontend engineering team that works directly with the CEO leading the product. To help build this great team, we offer incredibly competitive compensation (based on Bay Area bands) and some interesting benefits(https://www.streak.com/careers#benefits). We want you to do the best work of your career here, so you should expect high autonomy and ownership.

Lastly, we believe the traditional interview process isn’t well correlated with an engineers’ ability to ship product. Instead, our interview process mimics what it’s actually like to work here. It’s highly asynchronous, favors writing and involves building something useful. We think this will give you a really good insight into our team and company and of course lets us assess if you’ll thrive here.
