I am a bioinformatician with eight years of experience in academic and commercial settings.

I take projects in the areas of data science, big data engineering, and machine learning - for example, I can help you set up data processing pipelines, increase reliability of your workflows, or visualise patterns in your data.

If your project involves a complex problem domain, large quantities of data, or complicated chains of computation, I will probably be a good fit for it - I am usually blessed with all three.

I have a Masters degree in mathematics and a multidisciplinary background with experience in computer science, biology, and genomics. Areas of bioinformatics I previously worked in include genome assembly and annotation, RNASeq analysis, and metagenomics. As a software developer, I specialize in Perl, I frequently reach for Unix tools, Python and R, and I used to write a lot of Java.
