16Lab | TOKYO, JAPAN | ONSITE / REMOTE | Embedded Software, Embedded Security, Android | Visa assistance available for qualified candidates

A developer of the world’s smallest IoT/Wearable module, 16Lab Inc., is looking to add some engineers to our team: https://16lab.net/join-the-family/ to expand the limits of the lump of sensors empowered through software.

Our base module can be embedded to any shape of wearables. We ourselves develop a smart ring, too - that is designed as a multi functional controller as well as a universal authentication tool. We have been receiving many collaboration offers from leading global corporations in every key area. In collaboration with some of them, we have started working on the next-generation products. Our new authentication method has been highly evaluated by various significant partners/investors, including 5 sovereign wealth funds, as our technology perfectly fits the Smart City era. Please also visit: https://16lab.net/a-message-from-the-ceo/

Spacelift | Remote | Europe | Full-time | Mid-Senior Software Engineer | $50-120k

Stack: Go, AWS, PostgreSQL, Terraform, IaC, React, GraphQL

We’re a VC-funded startup building an automation platform for Infrastructure-as-Code, adding a Policy-as-Code layer above it, in order to make IaC usable in bigger companies, where you have to take care of state consistency, selective permissions, a usable git flow, etc. We also try to understand the managed resources as part of our meta-abstractions, in order to provide insights to our customers.

On the backend we’re using 100% Go with AWS primitives. We’re looking for backend developers who like doing DevOps’ish stuff sometimes (because in a way it’s the spirit of our company), or have experience with the cloud native ecosystem. Ideally you’d have experience working with an IaC tool, i.e. Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or SaltStack.

We’re also looking for frontend developers, who get to work with React and a GraphQL API. DevOps’ish interests are a plus here too, but not required.

Overall we have a deeply technical product, trying to build something customers love to use, and already have multiple happy and satisfied potential clients.

We promise interesting work, the ability to open source parts of the project which don’t give us a business advantage, as well as sane working hours.

If that sounds like fun to you, email me at kubam at spacelift dot io!

PS: Fear not, no whiteboarding!

Radix Labs | Software Engineers esp. Front End Engineers | Cambridge, MA, USA (Boston area) | Full Time and Co-Op/INTERNS Biology has talented PhD Biologists spend 5 hours a day on hard to reproduce, unoptimized minutia that isn’t innovative. Radix Labs hopes to accelerate biotech innovation like early compilers did for computing by enabling lab protocols to seamlessly operate and be optimized across physical labs. Our software makes biology reproducible, faster, more efficient, and lets smart biologists focus on the science instead of managing the implementation. We do this by developing a compiler, operating system, scheduler, and device drivers for biology labs and protocols. We have funding from Ycombinator (S18), Firstminute Capital, MIT's The Engine, and Nikesh Arora.

Technologies: 100% Scala code base but we don't require you know it already. (It's helpful if you have past functional programming experience with Erlang, Ocaml, Prolog, Haskell, or similar.) Other tech: HashiCorp stack (Nomad, Consul, & Terraform), Apache Kafka, Akka, ScalaJS React, Z3, Cats, Bazel w/ rules_scala, (some) AWS.

We'll hire smart, good people who are interested in working with us regardless of openings. Right now we're especially looking for a brave, experienced front end developer to lead developing our front end visual programming language that biologists use to describe their protocols to the rest of our software. We're also happy to hire people who are interested in working on compilers and virtual machines for biology labs. Come join our world-class diverse, inclusive, and caring team! You won't be the only woman, trans person, POC, latino/a/x, non-US citizen, wearer of silly hats, or parakeet! We will consider remote candidates and those who need visa sponsorship on a case-by-case basis. We offer equity, great salary, unlimited PTO, medical, dental, and vision insurance, mechanical keyboard budget, and flexible work hours. Any questions, send me an email: halie at radix.bio
