I had a horrible experience interviewing with Canonical. I cleared all the rounds and impressed everyone, and the manager asked me to state what salary I'd like. Who Is Hiring threads are not the place to litigate that—there's absolutely no way to sort through what happened in a context like this. Apologies. I only replied because I applied to Canonical through their Who's Hiring post and didn't want others to follow the same path with these expectations. Their salary negotiation process was horrible to say the least.
