Have a saas I built for a large company to manage their marketing and advertising. Deployed about 8 years ago. Two employees, myself and my brother. Built it in php, and javascript and was the first web based app I had ever built. Got paid about 150k to build it and then we have been netting ~$2500 a month (we then split it 50/50) for the last 8 years. No upgrades or additional work done. Most months all I do is send…

PHP app with no upgrades in 8 years? Jheez, that sounds like a black hat hacker's dream...

No features updates. We implemented basic security updates.

Pretty simple Shopify app, sitting at about $2700 after expenses. I started it back in 2013, and it slowly grew but has now leveled off. Pretty sweet considering I only answer a handful of customer requests a month now.

what do you sell?

I don't sell anything on Shopify, I just created an App for their app store. It helps people manage their inventory. It's actually stupid simple, but it was a need a lot of my customers were asking for at the time.

I started AppMasker ( https://appmasker.com ) a few months ago. It’s basically a reverse-proxy as a service (using Caddy) and makes adding custom domains to your web app a breeze. Still working on my marketing pitch so feedback is welcome!

Honest question, is this that hard to do (without your service)? I don't think so.

Not GP, however:

For custom domains, no. With https, yes.

Am using Caddy for this exact use-case at work. Thought it would make a good subscription service, but didn't get around to doing it yet. Well done, GP.

Made a Rubik's cube kind of game for phones ( http://eclidus.com ) with my buddy and sales were at that level for a while. Then they died down, I couldn't be bothered to market it so I made it available for free. :) I'll probably try something similar again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Speedcuber here) This looks awesome, downloaded and going to try it out.

Cheers!

For the past 2 and a half years I've been running a YouTube channel with semi-automated content. The content in question is threads on AskReddit. I know a lot of people look down on content like that (tbh myself included) but to be fair most content on YouTube is very low-effort. It's not getting close to the views it used to, but now it makes an average of about $1k/month. Our content is a lot higher quality than mo…

Can you comment on how your software works?

I have built https://www.gematrix.org (Gematria Calculator for different types of Gematria values) and it makes more than $500 a month. I am quite happy with it because I did it for fun as a way to learn MySQL and I was happy when people started to use it.
