Have 5 years working in big tech, looking to work on a new tech stack with a dedicated focus. I have a lot of experience with Oncall/IR for major services. My main focus professionally has been in Devops and developer tooling which I'd be more than interested in having a conversation about, but I'm also interested in expanding and moving towards to new roles.

I'd be interested in any tech roles regarding backend technologies, Observability and platform logging, Data infrastructure architecture, Site Reliability Engineering, Security, Modernization and Automation.

I have strong familiarity with frontend/fullstack but would prefer to limit my frontend search to frontend roles that at least partially cover hardware accelerated technologies such as WebGPU/ThreeJS, Platform specifics (OpenGL/Vulkan/Metal/D3D), Compute or high efficiency parallelization.

I'd be open to opportunities where I get to further explore AI, however I'd have a preference for Healthcare, Notetaking, transcription and productivity, prototyping, and less emphasis on GenAI for content creation.

Additionally, I'd love the opportunity to take my skills and experience from outside of my professional experience into a new direction, so I've decided to put special emphasis on hardware/robotics. I consider any role that is at least somewhat adjacent to hardware technology a major plus.

I want to be more picky with my current job search. I'm open to spending more time in the interview process to determine whether or not I'm a good fit, as I want to ensure I'm where I want to be. Let's start a conversation!

Looking for application security engineer roles. For the past 5 years I have been building security tooling that internal teams can make use of. I work closely with other teams to help improve the security posture of their apps. I help write documentation and host department wide presentations to educate others about web app security and steps they can take to make apps more secure. I took on the responsibility of managing our H1 Bug Bounty Program which previously was failing SLA targets by 10+ months and managed to bring it down to days. I have helped mentor interns and junior developer and also been active in conducting pair programming interviews for future candidates. What you get from me is a go-getter, self-motivated individual. I am always looking to improve not only myself but also my work.

Location: Virginia, United States

Remote: Yes (have worked exclusively remotely for past 13 years)

Willing to relocate: No

I've been doing backend work for the past 13 years, with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework. I'm intimately familiar with schema and data migrations, including migrations between Django projects. I've done a lot of full-stack work as well, with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and React.js. I've worked extensively with startups and I've worked with Twitter. I have a lot of experience working with distributed teams and am open to occasional travel. Available full (~32hrs) or part time. Interested in Python work or full-stack with Python.

Like this Ask HN: Recommend employers with positive social impact [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived and worked on four continents. Now it's time to move on and so I am in the process to relocate to Africa.

While I could find a job elsewhere I believe that the experience living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives me a better understanding of the needs of the location I am serving. Whether it is through direct contact with clients and users or just by being part of a local community and learning about the reality of living there.

I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing software development, support and training and mentoring adults and students, as well as working on educational projects, and I am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a project.

I am also open to work for a company anywhere as long as the work can be done fully remote from Africa.

In addition, I want to use part of my income to hire local interns and junior developers and train them in order to pass on my experience. If you want to support this, I would love to work with you. Also if you are interested in hiring African developers yourself. I can help you build up a team for you.
