Furthermore, I tend to be a T-shaped person with the core in full-stack/backend and consistently learning leadership skills. I understand database internals and actively contribute to Redis ecosystem. Properly skilled with distributed technologies and cloud native patterns. Currently working for a fintech company. I have multiple independent contractor experience spanning from desktop & web application development to reverse engineering mobile applications. I also contribute to OSS during my free time. #777UrbanFootprint (https://urbanfootprint.com/) is a geospatial data & software company helping local governments target relief programs, cities plan for housing and transit, and energy companies plan infrastructure updates around population vulnerability and climate change. We just raised a $25M Series B round and are growing! The work is fully remote with flexible schedule and no-meeting days. During core collaboration hours we often pair on stories. An IRL get-together is planned for late July in Berkeley, CA.
We’re seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to lead the team in building our geospatial platform and reducing manual overhead in delivering curated data experiences. In this role, you will spend about half of your time implementing backend features using Python, PostgreSQL and BigQuery, and the other half mentoring your peers and translating the vision of technical- and product leadership into well-scoped tasks for the team.
