Rize Education | Full-stack JS Engineers | Full Time | REMOTE (US or Canada)

Rize Overview:

* Mission: fundamentally transform higher education and provide every student with the most affordable and effective path to their fullest potential

* Initial Problem: smaller colleges desperately need to increase enrollment, but can’t afford the upfront investment & fixed costs required to create new degree programs

* Solution: pay-as-you-go degree programs that require zero upfront investment, fixed costs, or risk. Rize provides 4-year, non-profit, accredited colleges & universities with skills-based majors & minors for college credit at a fraction of the cost of traditional programs

* Traction: working with 90+ private colleges. ~100 majors and minors already adopted across 30 colleges, with many more in the pipeline. Google & Unity partnerships

* Funding: Raised Series A from top VCs

As we look to enrol thousands of students for the next Fall session, we’re looking for a Software Engineer to help the Rize team scale operations via automations and reporting.

* Stack: Node, React/Next.js, Typescript, GraphQL, Prisma. * Shipping is our heartbeat. * Permanently Remote (not just during COVID) in the US or Canada.

Apple, Inc.

We’re perfectionists. Idealists. Inventors. Forever tinkering with products and processes, always on the lookout for better. Whether you work at one of our global offices, offsite, or even at home, a job at Apple will be demanding. But it also rewards bright, original thinking and hard work. And none of us here would have it any other way.

Where do you see yourself at Apple?

-- Siri — Apple’s Siri is looking for exceptional engineers, designers, and project managers well versed in machine learning, natural language, speech recognition, server automation, and/or mobile software development. Siri is used on countless iOS, tvOS and watchOS devices and handles over a billion requests per week. Note that in addition to Cupertino, we are hiring in many locations such as Seattle, Pittsburgh, Beijing, Cambridge MA and Cambridge UK too.

If you’re passionate about Music, Productivity, or one of a variety of our open positions, you’ll be right at home.

Apply online or send a resume to steve_rath@apple.com

-- SEAR -- Security Engineering & Architecture is looking for engineers who can help make sense of complex hardware and software systems, distilling essential qualities, threat models, and vulnerabilities from volumes of structured data. We are looking for backend engineers able to build scalable services — ingesting, storing and querying complex graph-relational data from diverse sources. Requiring no specialized security skills (though such skills are valued), this role is a unique opportunity to be part of the team that architects and delivers groundbreaking security to more than a billion devices. Also within SEAR, the Trusted Execution team is looking for engineers to help define and build some of the most important security technologies in Apple’s operating systems. If you have a background or interest in building a new malware detection and remediation capability, we’d like to hear from you.

Apply online (1 (https://jobs.apple.com/en-us/details/200196517/security-infr... (https://jobs.apple.com/en-us/details/200201014/trusted-execu...)) or send a resume to dwooden+hn@apple.com

-- FEAR — Apple's Fraud & Security (FEAR) team — is responsible for protecting Apple’s users and the services they rely on. We’re hiring for software engineers with 2+ years experience who love building large-scale distributed solutions to protect hundreds of millions of users. We're looking to hire in our Cupertino, Austin and Vancouver offices.

If interested send your resume to fear-eng-hiring@group.apple.com with [HN] in the email subject.

-- Developer Ecosystem — Do you thrive on variety, collaboration, and facilitating solutions to hard software engineering challenges? Are you looking to continually apply the best practices of your craft with peers from multiple areas of Software Development across multiple internal and external partners? Partner Engineering is a role focused on improving our software ecosystem. Some of the ways it can be improved is by working closely with our partner external software developers, helping them land technology transitions and stay modern with platform best practices. Our team listens to their requirements, goals and enhancement requests and translates those into improvements in our own APIs or features when applicable. We work with our internal teams to understand what’s needed of our external partners as we develop new technologies and products, and then work with those partners to find the most efficient way to meet those needs. Translating this knowledge into more clearly defined features, APIs, samples, patches or new direction are possible paths to success in the team!
