unsolicited feedback, a 30min coding exercise before I even talk to a real human to know if the job is a fit is insane. edit: why doesn't this have a parent comment anymore? bug?

Shortwave | Sr. Software Engineer | Onsite in San Francisco | $150k-$225k base + generous equity I previously cofounded Firebase (YC S11) and sold it to Google, and most of our team is ex-Google / ex-Firebase. Shortwave ( https://www.shortwave.com/ ) is building an AI-powered email client. We're bringing the power of LLMs & a modern messaging UX to 4.5 billion email users. Imagine an AI virtual assistant with perfect…

Isn't the worry here that Google is going to head in this same direction? (hasn't there been some indication that they are moving in this direction?)

Not interested in applying(have a job) - but great name for a company/app!

Good job getting that domain - short, memorable and topical all in one.

Turnstile (https://www.tryturnstile.com) | REMOTE (US/Canada) | Engineering/Product/Design | $155k-250k salary + equity

---

We're a small (16-person) team of repeat founders and seasoned operators building a usage-based revenue platform that helps SaaS companies price however they want. This is a tight-knit and senior crew — most of us have 10-25 years' experience, much of it together.

The last company we started, Second Measure (YC S15), scaled to 70+ people and tens of millions in revenue, received multiple “best places to work” awards, and was ultimately acquired by Bloomberg in a landmark deal.

We're looking for extraordinary builders to play a foundational role in a company designed for scale:

  - Technical Lead (frontend and data)
  - Software Engineer (frontend and fullstack)
  - Product Designer
  - Product Manager
We're well-funded by top investors (led by First Round Capital), fully distributed, and known for building intentional, inclusive culture. We offer competitive global rates (SF salary + equity), equal pay by level, work flexibility (including a 4-day core schedule), and comprehensive, family-friendly benefits.

I'm Mike, one of the founders— if interested, apply here (https://tryturnstile.com/about) and mention this post.
