I don't want to bring the discussion off topic, but I find that hard to believe. Some good electronic artists that I enjoy are Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Burial, and The Avalanches. I agree that there is a lot of crappy electronic music on the internet but I think that's true of any genre. Why do you think its the lowest tier?
I'd say the Avalanches is mostly hip hop. Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, I don't think they are any good or different that the other hundreds of artists in those genres.

I live paycheck to paycheck on six figures in the midwest. I'm not broke but I'm certainly not living it up. People act like 100k is life changing money. I think it depends more on circumstances before you get to $100k. If I had parents who paid for school I'd probably be living it up too.
Agreed. My parents gave me nothing. Had to pay for school and save up for home loan, car etc.
I often wonder if it's just people who have a different concept of what is a necessity vs a luxury due to never having to go without for a significant part of their lives, or people who have just never lived outside of the cities or other expensive areas.

"Obviously kids make this harder..." If you didn't have kids you would feel incredibly rich. You could pay off your house in five years and feel even richer.
Don't forget it's not uncommon for two college grads to have $100k in student loan debt today.

The average student loan debt is $27,000. Having four times that amount makes you a massive outlier.

#677Woodworker. From running two small ecommerce companies I think I've learned enough about MVP, shipping, inventory management, etc. From 25 years as a software engineer I've learned about building tools to automate steps. I'd pick some "hard to find / expensive niche (e.g. Greene and Greene, Art Nouveau, etc.), but offer repeatable designs, not do custom work. That would allow for lots of jigs, fixtures, using cheap m…

#678The original reference architecture for the Human Body is still valid, save for a newly-classified organ here and there.
No microservices revolutions, no development methodologies, no UI toolkits...
