Senior Ruby on Rails engineer focused on rescuing and modernizing established products.

I’m a good fit when a Rails application is already important to the business, but releases have become slow or risky, production is unpredictable, an upgrade has stalled, or the team needs someone senior to own a difficult technical initiative without proposing an unnecessary rewrite.

My work covers production debugging, Rails and PostgreSQL performance, upgrades, test stabilization, legacy cleanup, infrastructure, and payment or CRM integrations. I can take a problem from diagnosis through implementation and production.

I’ve worked on products including Napster, Gimme Radio, Roomsie, Nexible, and several Rails/Spree ecommerce systems.

I also build my own products: SayTrue.ai, grounded AI customer service across voice, web chat, and social channels; ClearMX, an email verification platform for small SaaS teams; and Movieo, a movie discovery and tracking product covering more than 250,000 titles. Building products myself keeps me close to engineering, product decisions, infrastructure, operations, and the commercial realities of shipping software.

I’m open to senior or lead Rails roles, long-term contracts, part-time consulting, and focused rescue engagements.

Solo-built and currently operate Framework for Interoceptive Exploration, Language and Design - FIELD (aifield.tech), a 5+ mode AI orchestration platform live in Preview since March 2026. Strict TypeScript throughout, multi-provider LLM routing across Anthropic and OpenAI, three-layer content safety pipeline, client-side AES-256-GCM encryption, PostgreSQL with row-level security.

Before that, ten months building production voice agents at a Canadian AI startup. Multi-prompt architectures with conditional handoff running across thousands of live calls, CRM and booking integrations, custom analytics endpoints for failure triage. Intern to full-time on delivered work.

~18 months professional. Finishing a CS degree (University of Manitoba, December 2026), so ~20 hrs/week until then and full-time from January. Happy with contract or hourly. Native Portuguese, fluent English.

Most interested in: LLM systems where the hard part is judgment rather than plumbing, like agent behaviour, evaluation, safety surfaces.

Forward-Deployed Engineer. I work on unclear, real-world problems and build small systems that show whether the work changed the outcome. My loop: get the real data, find the bottleneck, ship a measured intervention, verify what happened, then reuse what held up.

Examples: - Built and deployed the same leasing test at two apartment buildings: Facebook reel creative → trackable landing page → CRM follow-up → occupancy timeline. Both properties now have a repeatable system for measuring what's working. - Energy Scout: solar/battery/quote decision tools for homeowners using real utility and incentive data. - Agent workflow systems across personal machines and VPS/cloud environments: model routing, approvals, task contracts, and artifact-based delivery using Claude Code, Codex, and Hermes.

Background in engineering, sustainability, and product design. I'm strongest where the problem is still partly undefined, the work touches the real world, and the right answer is some mix of research, software, systems thinking, and fast testing. Open to teams working in energy, housing, climate, AI tools, infrastructure, or anything else where this way of working would be useful.
