We’re a Series A stage company backed with $20MM from legendary investors like Accel, NYT bestselling author Adam Grant, and 100+ founders + executives from companies like Mozilla, Heap, Google, Pinterest.

Northrop Grumman | Multiple Software & Hardware Engineering Roles | Full-Time (Some Part-Time) | All 50 U.S. States | Some Remote Options but Mostly Onsite | https://www.northropgrumman.com/careers/ Hi everyone, my name is Rich and I'm a Software Engineer at Northrop - not a recruiter or in HR. We have teams across the U.S. that work on some really interesting projects. For example, did you know Northrop Grumman was…

Hi Rich, My experience is in Mechatronics and I am bridging into programming from the mechanical engineering side of things. I am wondering if you have any experience with those roles at Northrop? In a sense I have found bigger companies mostly have dedicated hardware teams and dedicated software teams and it has been more difficult to find roles where I can do both at the larger defense companies. Is Northrop somewh…

Sounds like you might be a good fit if that's what you'd like to do! I'm pure SWE but work with many EEs and MEs (even one Chemical Engineer) who moved into software. Regardless, we work closely with the hardware folks so there's a lot of opportunities for your engineering skills at Northrop. Let me know if you'd like some help trying to narrow down a few open positions!

I'm local to the Northrup Grumman location in Brigham City Utah and just came onto the market. I'm a 9-year veteran software developer largely experienced in Python web systems and cloud. I'd like to see what's available.

So are you closer to the Corrine location or Roy? I'm not that familiar with the area but just did a quick search in our internal portal and see several jobs that may match if you're looking for Python development.

I know your profile says you are not here for NG in an official capacity, but it might not be a bad idea to put your contact info there. Otherwise you might get a lot of replies. I think HN prefers "Who's Hiring" so be lean and clean (and yes, I know this reply is paradoxical).

Yeah, that's probably a good idea lol...

How long does it take for HR to reach out to candidates?

It just depends but they usually are very prompt with replies. Did you apply for something and are waiting to hear back? It's probably the recruiter that will reach back out but I'd be happy to ping someone for you if you're in a time crunch for an answer.

Is there a particular reason why the backend engineer job requires one to be registered in the Netherlands, which is part of the EU. As far as I know all EU residents have the same equal opportunity to get hired for a job in the EU? I'm registered in Germany.

Taxes. You can be employed by a company in another state, but they/you would have to pay taxes according to your country of residence. Even though it is certainly doable, nobody wants the headache of calculating the proper amount of taxes and other contributions for a random country.

The great benefit you are referring to is that you can walk tomorrow in an office in Amsterdam and get hired without needing a visa or anything else, just like a Dutch citizen
