Agora Health (https://myagorahealth.com/) | Full-Stack Developer(s) | Remote or hybrid in Boston | Full-Time

What we’re doing: We're building a digital GI care platform that helps patients with IBS & IBD (Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis) achieve long-term symptom relief through GI-specific dietary and behavioral health programs. We use clinical protocols, behavioral science and the largest behavioral health database in GI to guide people to better health through data.

Where we are: We've been building in stealth, closed a large Seed round in June 2022 (backed by early investors in Headspace, Pillpack, Classpass, Venmo, Lyft, Bonobos, and Snap). Our research (with partners at Northwestern, Harvard, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic) is published in tier1 clinical journals. We're launching our product in the Fall.

Tech stack: Front-End (Typescript / Javascript, React Native, NodeJS, Expo), Back-End (Python, PostgreSQL, Flask/FastAPI, NumPy, SciPy, AWS/Google Cloud)

Process: Culture screen - Tech screen - Code puzzle - Offer.

Benefits: Health, dental, and vision benefits. Matched 401k. Unlimited vacation (12 day mandatory minimums). Remote and flexible work, with a preference for BOS-based devs.

University of California, San Francisco | Senior Software Engineer | Remote or San Francisco | full time

(from the JD) The Data Science CoLab is seeking front-end, back-end, and full-stack software engineers to help build UCSF's Data Library. You’ll work as part of a small, cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, and biologists to develop a platform that stores and analyzes cutting-edge biological data from UCSF researchers.

In this position, you will architect, build, and deploy an open-source database system designed to accommodate large, diverse biological data types from a wide variety of technologies. The team also focuses on challenges in visualization and analysis of this complex data, the integration of multi-modal data, and building an interface that is accessible for biologists. You will be working with top UCSF researchers, learning novel biology as it’s discovered, and making an impact on the direction and discovery in the immunology and cancer fields. You will have freedom to innovate in this space with the tools and infrastructure you will build that can change the way we do systems biology. (end JD blurb)

This is a US remote-friendly position (all of the current software engineers are remote), but you could also work out of the UCSF Parnassus Campus if you are in San Francisco and prefer that. We meet up several times a year in SF to plan work, interact with our users, and get to know each other.

Our stack is Ruby (main services), Python (Airflow), and TypeScript / JavaScript / React on the front-end. We run Docker + Docker Swarm on our own VMs.

Process-wise, no leetcode or take-home projects. Instead, plan on two rounds of interviews to determine fit and coding ability.
