I am noticing the females here are more receptive per attractiveness and cool factor compared to the relative to the west coast, but not as much as outlying college towns nearby, and that's okay. I'm looking for more than getting eye f'd "lucky" by a Texas Tech or State…

#63Lack of time. Taking graduate courses in mathematics and economics, working part time in a bank, working out 3-4 times a week, spending time with my family (transport time). I don't really have time to pursue those odd ideas or just really dive deep into a new hobby or subject.
I guess you have to pay price for everything - so maybe in the future I will change my priorities.

#64Right now? I have a neighbor in my apartment building whose door I literally must walk past in order to get to my apartment. That neighbor assaulted me, on video, and my landlord doesn't want to do anything about it, except... put up a surveillance camera.
That is terrible but what can a landlord legally do ? they can be sued by the other side.

I'm halfway joking, but the USA has gone from "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave", "Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness," "From Sea to Shining Sea," to a boot stamping on a human face forever in less than one year. It's gotten to the point where I don't feel safe raising children here.

Being married means my wife's problems are also my problems. We have a legal issue right now due to problems in the justice system. A trooper wrote my wife a citation for having our dog off leash. He cited the wrong statute (among other mistakes) which means we have to go to court and also restricted our freedoms for 6 weeks. I called the trooper and told him he had the wrong statute and that there is a different statute pertaining to reasonable control (because anyone can make a mistake), but he didn't care. When we got to court the first time, the trooper finally amended the charge but lied about the reason in order to cover up his mistakes (violation of civil rights under Brady vs MD since that is concealment of exculpatory evidence). The court wouldn't give us a copy of the updated citation and gave us all sorts of BS excuses for other things, like saying they can't issue a subpeona for documents since they aren't a court of record and when they finally did issue it, they did not have the correct format (subpoena vs subpoena duces tecum). The court also refuses to even respond to our petition to drop the case since the originally cited statute shows as invalid in the court system (because the trooper doesn't even know how to correctly cite a statute), and that because we never got a correctly issued citation this violates our right to due process.
Not only is this case my problem, but this is every tax payer's problem. How wasteful is the system for it to spend all this money on the (incompetent) trooper showing up to court twice, the magistrate's time for two trials dates, the magistrate's (useless) secretaries, the state police resources required to fulfill the subpoena requests, and the potential for a civil suit to be filed against the state. All for a dog being off a leash, which would typically be a $25 fine for the first offense.
An interesting side note is that the original magistrate in the case was arrested for gambling with campaign money, perjury, and a slew of other charges. Needless to say, my already skeptical view of the "justice" system has been shattered by the pure incompetence of every official involved in this case.

#67I find little meat in life that is offered as standard. I mean: work, produce, consume, agree and enjoy the show (only if you keep dancing and only as long as it lasts). Where is the joy? How much joy am I neglecting to follow standards I have not chosen? I am looking for alternatives such as more dedication to my people, hobbies and joyful knowledge, finding that this has little overlap with the expected way of life…
It might be worthwhile to figure out what brings you joy by randomly asking yourself how you are feeling from 1 to 10 throughout the day. You might be surprised, in that your joy rating in the moment may deviate heavily from what you predict. With this data you can start prioritizing activities and trying to change your situation.

Hey, I work in a big bank and it's similar shitshow. I think all large organizations are mediocre at best. It still beats living in medieval times under some tyrant king.

Do you actually want the goals? I realized recently that many of my goals particularly my career goals weren't things I actually wanted, they were what I thought I should want, which is why I could never work hard at then for too long.
