I had a horrible experience interviewing with Canonical. I cleared all the rounds and impressed everyone, and the manager asked me to state what salary I'd like. It was a remote role, and I'm based in India. The manager called me and he said everyone was super impressed with my performance in the interviews and wanted to know what Salary I was expecting. My first question to him was do you have regional salaries. He…

This comment egregiously breaks the rules at the top of the thread. Please don't do that, even if you did unfortunately have a bad experience. Who Is Hiring threads are not the place to litigate that—there's absolutely no way to sort through what happened in a context like this. We detached this comment from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25641849 .

I have mixed feelings about this. The value add of HN's "who's hiring" over the run of the mill job posting boards is the extra HN community context it brings.

Its indeed true that there is no way to sort though what happened. Banning stories or allowing such stories distorts the truth oneway or the other.

VIBES Technology | https://www.vibestechnology.com | C# WPF Developer | Delft, the Netherlands | Full-time | On-site (WFH during pandemic)

VIBES helps the automotive industry to reduce noise and vibrations in cars, which is a relevant topic in particular for electric cars (higher frequencies generated, no masking effects anymore from loud combusion engine, new components as big coolant compressors).
