Locus is hiring Engineers and Data Scientists. At Locus we have an ambitious goal of Scheduling & Tracking the World transport movement. Engineers: We have always maintained a small, but high-caliber engineering team, and we are now looking to make a couple of additions to the same. We are hiring for mobile, backend & front-end. We are tech stack agnostic. We would prefer to have a look at your GitHub repo or a mobile app that you have built, over your academic/educational qualification. We are a founding team of engineers, and understand that good engineering is part science part art, we would like to provide you the tools for the science and the time for the art. We are expanding the team to build the next version of our true multi-tenant platform with a few thousand events happening per second.

Data Scientists: We wish to push to edge of what is possible, and advance the field of routing problems itself. We are team of PhD scientists and engineers with background in stats, working on building faster & more scalable implementation of NP-hard problems, or even a combination of a few NP-Hard problems.

Parse.ly has built a real-time content measurement layer for the entire web.

Parse.ly's analytics platform helps digital storytellers at some of the web's best sites, such as Arstechnica, New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Next Web, and many more. In total, our analytics backend system needs to handle over 40 billion monthly events from over 550 million monthly unique visitors.

Our entire stack is in Python and JavaScript, and our team has innovated in areas related to real-time analytics, building some of the best open source tools for working with modern stream processing technologies. These include pykafka, pystorm, and streamparse.

We are currently looking for front-end engineers to help us build the best real-time analytics dashboard the world has ever seen. The requirements: programming background in Python and JavaScript, emphasis on JavaScript. Bonus points for an interest in information visualization and Edward Tufte. You can't be a frontend web coder only -- you need to be willing to be a flexible Python programmer, too.

This role will involve you rolling up your sleeves to debug queries generated by our Python data access layer or optimize middle-tier performance through caching with Redis. But it'll also have you applying advanced in-browser dataviz and UX techniques with d3.js and AngularJS, and thinking through the way to best satisfy customer demands around real-time content analytics data.

We are also hiring backend engineers to expand our data platform and make the world's most flexible and highest-performance real-time content analytics system. On this team, you'd be working with Python experts in using Storm, Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch and Redis at scale.

Finally, we have an opening for a Python engineer particularly interested in automated testing of API servers, third-party JavaScript, and rich web/mobile applications via modern frameworks like Locust, WebDriver, PhantomJS, and Appium.

As the Head of Engineering Co-Founder you will have the opportunity to lead the technology strategy and development of our digital product. Working with a sales focused Co-Founder wearing past experience in the diamond industry, and another product-driven Co-Founder that has 10+ years of design experience working on digital products reaching millions of users, you will be collaborating with other focused entrepreneurs.

We are building a better way to shop for diamonds nearby through an online platform (web and mobile app) that lists local diamonds for viewing by appointment, leading to an offline purchase experience that is lacking for our target market that is forced to buy directly online with competing services.

The existing market for diamond purchasing relies on online purchase in which the consumer doesn't get to experience the diamond before buying, leading to a deal that isn't as good as presented; or, they are forced to shop store-to-store in person with little visibility into competitive pricing - a major reason they look online in the first place. However, we come in by creating friendly competition between local retailers, with the convenience of online shopping and the engagement of social sharing, including education of the consumer along the way.
